LIFE IN THE REGION
DESIGNATED „ESPECIALLY CHILD- AND FAMILY-FRIENDLY“
From the newborn to the grandparents: Everyone makes contacts here – in pre-school, on the playground, at the various schools, doing sports on one of the countless playgrounds and football areas, or at the numerous nursing institutions in the City and its surrounds.
The low cost of living and affordable housing make the Region of Bayreuth especially attractive for young people and families.
Even in what is often dismissed as the minor things, Bayreuth shows a big heart: here you can take advantage of full access to child care for your children, as well as good provision for holiday and extended hours supervision. While you and your partner pursue your occupations, you can be sure your children are given the best possible care. Numerous facilities in the Region of Bayreuth offer the provision of child care close to your place of residence.
The Adult Education Center VHS and the City Library in RW21 can offer a whole package of education, information and advice for you: In the Regiothek and the Globothek you will obtain brochures on countless initiatives and clubs introducing you to life in Bayreuth.
German courses, novels and spoken books in many languages can be found in the International Library. Via its online service, the City Library can provide you with access to more than 2,300 newspapers and magazines from 100 countries in more than 50 languages. In the Children’s Library, children and teenagers will find children’s and young-adult books, films, CDs and games, and even foreign-language literature and language courses.
Moreover, in the House of Young Scientists or at the Children’s University, your youngsters have the opportunity to gain their first hands-on experience of science.
