Every year, Bayreuth becomes the Mecca for friends of short films three days long. The Festival “kontrast” invites its audience to view the highlights of (short)-cinematic creativity by professionals as well as amateurs. Original ideas and creative implementation are of more importance than technical finesse to the Bayreuth association the creators of the Film Festival.
The Easter Festival offers high-profile concerts from the International Youth Orchestra Academy from classical to jazz. The benefit concerts funds the Cultural and Social Foundation of International Youth Orchestra Academy, who makes a donation for healing of chronically ill and cancer ailing children.

The prestigious Bayreuth theatre ‘Studiobühne’ stages Open-Air Theatre at historical sites of the Margravine Wilhelmine – in the ruins of the theatre in the Eremitage, Sanspareil and the Court Theatre of the piano house of Steingraeber & Söhne in the summer months.
The Uni Open Air is a music festival, which takes place at the University of Bayreuth year after year on campus in June. National and international, new and famous, young and old artists perform on stage. The open air has evolved from a small student get together to a nationally known Festival, but retained its student and family atmosphere for visitors and artist.
Since July, 2011 Bayreuth has another musical highlight: An impressive Jazz Fireworks was ignited with “St. Georgen Swings” in the historical district, that attracted over 10,000 enthusiastic music lovers at its premiere from near and far.

Every year in the summer, Bayreuth becomes the cultural centre of artistic analysis of the music of Richard Wagner. The Bayreuth Festival made the city internationally know as well as the singers, conductors, directors and stage designers. At the call of the trumpets at the beginning of the Richard Wagner Festival, an international audience flows into the Festival Theatre on the Green Hill.

The International Youth Festival today called The Festival of Young Artists Bayreuth – has welcomed over thousands of students from over 80 countries around the world over the years. Every year during the Richard Wagner Festival it becomes the time for the Forum of the international encounter and to the field of experimentation for new ideas in almost all disciplines of art.
Since 2011 the A Cappella-Festival that takes place for several days, changes Bayreuth into a Mecca of vocal art. Whether, worldly or sacred works, well known, or extraordinary, at the A Cappella-Festival friends of A Capella get their money´s worth
Meanwhile a nice tradition: Every year, in November jazz moves to Bayreuth. The Jazz Forum then brings exclusive musicians on the stage. Whether it´s Billy Cobhan, Joachim Kühn, Jasper van’t Hof, Adam Nussbaum, or Victor Bailey – the Jazz November brings them all to Bayreuth.
