Richard Wagner's Bayreuth

(Group offers 3 days / 2 nights)

Long before Richard Wagner moved to Bayreuth in 1872 with his family, he had a clear vision of his festival venue and retirement home. He wanted that his Ring of the Nibelung would be performed away from the distractions and busyness of the "urban civilization" in their own theater. Not only for that he decided to Bayreuth.

Day 1

Arrival in Bayreuth and check in at the hotel. Then you will experience "Richard Wagner with music," an exclusive program that begins with the city tour "In the footsteps of Richard Wagner." This includes a visit of Wagner's grave and a tour of the piano manufacturer Steingraeber, where Wagner got his pianos. At the end of the day you attend an exclusive, one-hour piano concert with Wagner transcriptions.

Day 2

The art-loving favorite sister of Frederick the Great, Bayreuth has numerous palaces, parks and the wonderful Margrave Opera House gave, which was designated as the most beautiful baroque theater in Europe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlight is a visit to the Hermitage, a park and locks system, the elements of Baroque garden art and landscape architecture combines English and thus attracts visitors by its uniqueness in its spell.

Impressive: The line of sight to the Festspielhaus, which was created specially for King Ludwig II, who lived in the Hermitage in 1876 exists today.
