More than a Business Location
Areas of competency and structural projects of the Department of Business Development
The scope of our mission at the Department of Business Development is wide-ranging indeed. Whether in maintaining an attractive CBD, or in maintaining the portfolio of enterprises in Bayreuth, in issues of regional development, or in far-reaching structural projects and concepts for location development, economic progress is our goal. And by expanding our areas of competency, we provide fertile ground for new growth industries such as new materials, logistics and health care management.
Logistics
Several highly innovative companies in the logistics industry guarantee to optimize the business processes of local firms and those aspiring to be such. The Fraunhofer Process Innovation Project Group at the University of Bayreuth develop innovative, application-focused solutions for companies of all sizes which will improve the productivity sustainably.
Meanwhile, the construction of the Bayreuth logistics park (LogPark) on the premises of the former Markgrafen barracks is giving a further boost of vitality to the industry in the Region. Covering an area of 26 Hectares in immediate proximity to the Bayreuth-Nord motorway exit, new space has been developed for Logistics companies to flourish.
Health Care management
The Region of Bayreuth is one of the important health care locations in the north of Bavaria. As a grouping, five local clinics guarantee a highly differentiated, optimal medical care. This is complemented by comprehensive outpatient care, educational institutions oriented towards the medical industry, companies specializing in medical technology and equipment, as well as service providers and authorities in the health sector.
As partner of the wellness Region of Bayreuth, the city’s Department of Business Development furthermore supports the continued expansion of the health care sector and that of health tourism. The location of the city in the middle of the holiday regions of the Franken Jura, the Veldensteiner Forest and the Fichtel mountains offers plenty of scope for the provision of health-related leisure and sporting activities.
Inner city development
The inner city of Bayreuth is a retail location of more than regional significance. Its retail industry attracts visitors from a catchment market of approx. 330,000 inhabitants. In conjunction with other municipal offices and Citymarketing, the city’s Department of Business Development strives to promote a sustainable development of the inner city.
Our goal is to maintain the inner city as an attractive space for shopping, living, working, service provision and culture. If you are interested in relocating to Bayreuth, or in its events, please contact the city’s Department of Business Development or the Citymanagement.
